Why I love working with Mompreneurs!

MompreneurAs a Virtual Assistant and Mom, I work odd hours.  There’s no doubt about it. It is a constant juggling act between providing great client support and managing the needs of three kids.  Don’t get me wrong, I am not complaining in the least.  I am just stating what every mompreneur knows well. It is not uncommon to find me on the computer at 4:00 am or midnight or early Saturday mornings before the kids get up.

So this morning at about 7:00 am, I get pinged (the term for IM’ing someone on Skype) by one of my favorite clients. She didn’t expect me to be there, nor did she expect me to be working over the weekend. It was just a quick “when you get a chance, can you send me this” IM.  Because I was trying to get some work done before going off and having fun (work before play always makes me feel better) I happened to be here.  I took a couple of minutes and got her what she needed.

It is key to understand here that she did not expect me to answer. I have never felt anything but complete respect for my time and skills as well as gratitude from her so this was not a demanding, need something on Saturday morning and expect you to be there type request. She did not mean to cause me to work over the weekend. She just knew, as a Mompreneur I might be and she is doing the same – catching up on a little work on Saturday morning.

It felt good to be able to get her what she needs. I know she has her days carved around her daughter’s schedule and I respect her for that. So, hats off to her and all Mompreneurs. It is not easy having 2 full-time jobs yet Mompreneurs always go the extra mile.  It is a pleasure to be a mompreneur supporting others!

And on that note, I’m off to finish a couple things and get on with my Saturday!  I hope you enjoy yours too!
